Rayburn Farm sits on the Arthur Highway just east of Sorell, directly across the road from Iron Creek Bay and next door to Nonesuch Distillery. It’s been working farmland since around 1896, and the place still reads that way — gravel roads, open paddocks, timber buildings, and the kind of wide Tasmanian sky that makes the whole day feel bigger than it is.

The farm is run by Hayley and Brad, who host a limited number of weddings each season. The venue is genuinely DIY: beyond tables, chairs, and a fridge, couples bring their own vision — caterers, styling, the lot. What you get in return is complete freedom and a setting that no amount of interior decoration can manufacture. Ceremonies typically take place on the hill above the property with views across the water and farm; receptions move into the old timber barn, which doubles as a working museum of antique farm machinery and carts.

The location is quietly excellent. Hobart Airport and Seven Mile Beach are a short drive away, the Tasman Peninsula is just down the road, and the drive from Hobart takes around 25–30 minutes. Guests feel like they’ve been taken somewhere properly away from town without anyone having to leave early on a Sunday.
