Mount Field is one of the most accessible wild places in Tasmania — an hour and a quarter from Hobart through the Derwent Valley — and it packs an extraordinary range of landscapes into a relatively small area. Russell Falls is one of the most photographed waterfalls in Australia; deeper in the park, Lake Dobson sits among alpine heath and ancient cushion plants.

For a ceremony, Russell Falls and its surrounds offer lush temperate rainforest with tree ferns and towering swamp gums. The alpine plateau, reached via Lake Dobson Road, is starkly different — open, elevated, and dramatic. Both are genuinely special.

All guests require a valid Tasmania Parks pass. Book through Parks Tasmania at least four weeks before the date.
